I love this card. It took me 2 weeks to get it just right, but it was worth it. I even started out with a completely different image, but I just couldn't get it to work. When I came across this one, it felt just right. And I'm really feeling the bright green. I struggled with what colors to use for Cayden's birthday card, cuz I didn't want to do just pink and last year I used pink, yellow & orange for the flowers on that card. Not that I think she's keeping track, but I am and you know how neurotic I can be! {who, me?} Anyway, I thought this dress was just begging for green, so I went to one of my favorite green Copics (YG05) and this is what I got. So my next struggle was the background. What haven't I done a million times...recently? Swirls! But they too, started out as different swirls. And I wasn't feelin 'em. So I had to bring out the big guns. Priceless! Yes. Love that swirl. And of course, now that I know about making my own ribbon color with my Copics, I had to make ribbon to match. Although, looking back, going over the ribbon twice would've made it darker. Live & learn. And yeah, I know you can dye ribbon with ink pads, but the ribbons always feel sticky to me. So there you have it. A birthday card for a 9 year old. The kind of 9 year old whose mom also makes cards, so she knew to open it, and ooohh and aaahh, and say what a pretty card it was. Gotta love her!

How adorable is that! And the ribbon color is perfect. Silky ribbon is special anyway, and I think the softer color works. I know Cayden AND her mom will love this one.
Bestest Mom Ever
Love the socks, Mint! And, yeah, the color is great. The swirls are just perfect...all frilly and such.
