Yes, More Chocolate Aqua

Why, yes that is the same color combo I just told you you'd be seeing more of. So, you were warned. But I think, just like so many other things in life, I'm over it. I think next time I might use at least one color you guys aren't used to seeing. Hmmm, we'll see.

I don't have a lot going on to tell you guys about right now. But next week, the elementary school (once again) has a whole week of half days. So, if I live thru the week (of course, it's not me you should really worry about - kidding!...sorta) I'm sure something riveting will come up.

I would like to just ask one thing, tho. Why is it, that when a child (all 3 of mine are guilty of this, btw) spills something on the table, they just stand there and stare at it? Is it really mesmerizing to watch how the liquid spreads across the table? Or the neat waterfall effect of it going over the table and onto the floor? And those of you who haven't been to our house, we have carpet under our kitchen table. Yeah, that's biiig fun. Hey, I've been trying to get that carpet pulled for years and replaced with anything but carpet, but Shawn says, "we're not replacing anything in this house 'til those kids are gone". He's kinda got a point there, but I really hate cleaning the carpet. And since Krista has informed us that she's not moving out until she's at least 30, gross beige carpet it is. Oh, and just so you know, if a child spills an entire can of Pepsi sometime after school, and about half of it lands on a cushioned chair, said chair will not be dry by dinnertime. You might want to set the chair aside so you don't forget about it, or place a thick towel in the chair before you sit your nice warm behind in it after slaving over dinner. Don't ask me how I know, but just consider this a free parenting tip.

New Stuff. Yay!

Ok, I was finally struck by inspiration. A whole bunch of things just came together all at once and here ya go. First, the stamp set. I've been wanting 'Piece of Cake' from Papertrey for a long time, but have just opted to get other stamp sets first. I think I actually went to buy it once and it was out of stock. Anyway, this month I finally got it, along with the new colors Nichole released in her own line. Turns out her new Aqua Mist goes great with Chocolate Chip. I love this color combo. Then, while shopping for things I just *had* to have, I came across this little flower border. I was at All That Scraps and they have these cute, little paper borders. I couldn't wait to use them. Sometimes when I try to mush all my new stuff together, it doesn't really work. But I love how this all just worked. I'll be making a lot of these cards, or at least cards using this color combination. That's all I've got for now. What? I've gotta go make more cards.

Happy Almost Birthday Rachel

Are you guys sick of looking at this Berry Bliss paper yet? I love how easy it is to coordinate with this paper. I know all of the designer papers from Stampin' Up! coordinate with their colors, but I just happen to love all of the colors in this paper. Purely Pomegranate is definitely one of my favorite colors and this is the only paper they have with that color in it, so I guess I'll be stocking up on it. I had to pat myself on the back for this mailbox, cuz it was a last minute rush job and it came together exactly the way I wanted. I found out Friday night that my oldest (not in age, but I've known her for 20 years) and bestest friend from high school was sort of in town (well, closer than Fresno) and of course I had to see her. Her birthday is this Thursday, so I wanted to take her gift straight to her just a wee bit early. Only problem is, I was gonna put it together this weekend and mail it on Tuesday. Mmmm, yeah. So, I woke up on Saturday morning and put this together before getting up the girls and getting everybody ready for the hour and a half drive. I even put some chocolate in there, cuz chocolate always makes people feel better about getting older. Not that we're old, mind you. Of course, saying things like "mind you" can make you seem old. Hmmm. Maybe I won't use that one anymore.

Side view. Ooh. Aah.

I love these little brads that I put in the middle of the flowers. They're all glittery and I swear they are the same color as the paper. Well, the brown is darker, but the other 2 colors are very close to the Pretty in Pink and Purely Pomegranate. Fabulous!

Happy Valentine's Day *sigh*

Alright, Happy Valentine's Day. There I said it. I'm just not a fan of Valentine's Day. I'm not sure when this happened, but I just think it's stupid. I'm not going to get into all of the thinking behind my not liking it, because I don't know why it bugs me so much. I guess because I'm just not a romantic. And I don't like being told when to show who I love how much I love them. I do have to say Shawn is fine with me not liking it, so he's not one of those guys struggling to find just the right card & flowers at the last minute. Oh, how I do love to laugh at those guys. Okie dokie, having said all that, now I have to explain why I have 3 Valentine's cards on my blog. See, here's the thing. Shawn celebrates the day with our girls. Yeah, awwwww. Who gets to make the cards? Yeah, that would be me. He figures he has the right to have me do it, since he's invested in all the supplies. Ok, he's got me there. So every year he goes out & buys them stuff and they seem to enjoy it. They are such daddy's girls. Well, ok, maybe not Krista. She belongs to herself and we're good with that. Oh, I just wanted to add that, yes, these are those little 3x3 cards again. I love those things. Well, for those of you that do celebrate, have a good Valentine's Day!

Cuttlebugged Pomegranate (phew!)

Here I am. Yeah, it's been awhile. I have been just plain old busy and uninspired. But when I get something, you guys are the first to know. So, I was inspired. I saw this card on Splitcoast and thought, "Hmmm, now why didn't I think of that?" So I CASEd it. Basically, that means I stole it & made it my own. You all know how much I love a simple card. Now I just *need* more cuttlebug folders so I can have a variety. This is the type of card that I could totally mass produce (ohmygoodnessgracious! If you receive a Mother's Day card from me, look away!) in no time flat. I love it!

Cherry Blossoms

Hey there! Yes, I'm still alive. And exhausted. First, I was sick. (You're shocked, I'm sure). Yes, after dealing with sick children, it finally caught up to me. But it was a mild cold and I used that as an excuse to not clean my house or cook, and I sat here & stamped. Mother of the Year, here I come. But I was behind on my stamping, so I stamped up some thank you cards for all my happy birthday wishes & goodies I got for my birthday. If you missed it, I will still happily accept any gifts. Better late than never, I always say. So I finally feel better and had cards made, then Shawn went & replaced my computer. See, one would think that would be a fabulous thing, but 1) I don't like change and 2) all my stuff got moved around. It took me a couple of days to figure everything out. Sure, the old one would freeze up & was incredibly slow, but when it was working, I knew right where everything was. Plus, that's stampin' money, Mister! And then, I've also been working at the Book Fair at the elementary school all day, all week. So, here I am. I'm healthy, have cards, figured out my new computer (sorta) and finally have time! It's like waiting for the planets to align. Oh, yeah, Darien stayed home sick today. Not that it's a big deal (she's fine) or that you care, but it really is neverending. Let's be glad I got this in.

BTW, Stephanie. That place that has templates that might help you out is here. Take a look around. If you don't find what you're looking for, lemme know. I'll look some more for you.
